OPUS VI Productions, Director of Media Production, 2007-present
The Company: Opus VI grew out of the ashes of IBCTV in 2007 and exists as a boutique multi-media production company specializing in unique solutions to marketing problems.
Responsibilities include: part of core team of people responsible for creating and implementing media-wide campaigns including website development, video production, print advertising, and promotions.
Accomplishments: created several award-winning campaigns for Brent Coon & Associates; created media expansive marketing strategy for the Board of Tourism for the State of Nayarit Mexico; developed prototype software interface and content for online education for TQM (currently in development); produced highly successful DVD on Mesothelioma treatments. Spearheaded aggressive social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, and Blogger
IBCTV, Director of Video Production, 2004-2007
The Company: IBCTV grew out of services provided by I-Dep and then branched off into an independent company under the same CEO. IBCTV specialized in developing interactive video and web-based tools.
Responsibilities include: managing all video production; creation of interactive video tools; director, cameraman, chief editor.
Accomplishments: co-produced and directed the first Virtual FAM tour for the travel industry; produced hours of video content for over dozens of websites, including corporate history videos and a half hour documentary on asbestos litigation.
I-Dep, Manager of Digital Video Productions, 2002-2004
The Company: I-Dep specialized in broadcasting legal depositions over the Internet through a secure web-page. This allowed lawyers to take part in the deposition without having to travel to the location. Our proprietary software allowed for our clients to view the video, real-time transcript, and chat with onsite-attorneys. We also provided synchronization services, encoding video and synchronizing it with the transcript for court presentation.
Responsibilities include: managing all video production; designing and specifying new technologies; hiring and training staff; providing on site support for our customers; configuration of customer firewalls; helped design proprietary software, including I-Dep Media Viewer and Media Manager.
Accomplishments: designed and built dual-encoding video broadcast station which became the “top of the line” product; configured MPEG encoding stations, adding to the company’s range of services; designed database for project tracking, helped design and launch sister corporation, IBCTV.
Interaccess/Allegiance Internet, Network Technician, 1999-2002
The Company: Interaccess was the largest privately owned Internet Service Provider in Illinois. We offered a full range of Internet services, including web-hosting, dial-up access, and dedicated high-speed connections. We were also the first company to offer DSL in Chicago.
Responsibilities include: supervising and maintaining Unix and NT servers; supporting dedicated connections and corporate LANs; configuring DSL lines; handling network abuse and security issues; aiding and instructing General Support Technicians.
Accomplishments: promoted to manager of Level 1 support within one year of starting, one of only two part-timers to ever achieve that rank.
Film to Video Labs, Production Manager, 1995-2001
The Company: FTV was a small multimedia production house. Our main reputation was built on the ability to do things that none of the larger companies could handle due to our incredible versatility.
Responsibilities include: overseeing all projects; maintaining and repairing of equipment; managing and training staff; working with clients to ensure satisfaction and quality; production of industrial videos and CD-ROMs; mastering audio CDs and cassettes; authoring DVDs.
Accomplishments: guided movement of company from analog duplication to digital video and audio production; specified and built computers for designated purposes of non-linear editing, DVD authoring, sound editing and mixing, and graphics; responsible for bids and proposals.
Freelance, Camera, Grip, Sound Recordist, 1992-1994
Projects: Various commercials, independent features and shorts, including: American Airlines, Hardy’s, and Empire Carpet commercials; Mad Science (feature film for H-Gun Labs); and Thieves Quartet (feature film for Mooncoin Productions).
Accomplishments: established connections with Chicago, LA and NYC production and post-production facilities; gained field experience on productions ranging from a $2000 short to $1,000,000+ commercials and $10,000,000 features.
